At certain times of the year I become fascinated with light breaking through and moody skies. Birch trees are something which I don’t paint often though they grown wild and abundantly in the West of Ireland where I live, I do love them and although there are many birch paintings out there I like to put my own personal style on what I paint, this one is complete with moody sky and a hopeful blue bird. My abstract landscapes are imagined but based on what I witness around me in nature, I always like to have something optimistic, like light in the sky or a happy little bird like this one. This painting is now framed in a custom made white painted wood frame.
