Many of my paintings, like this one, point to the beauty and vulnerability of nature, I hope to inspire awe of the natural world, of which we are only a small part. Cherry blossoms symbolise hope for me, they are so beautiful and delicate. I love the sparkle of silver leaf, which I used here to portray the magic of the blossoms in the moonlight. Painting white blossoms was a new challenge for me because I love the vibrancy of pink but there is also a place for subtlety.
