This painting includes many layers and evokes the magic of love, light and nature. In ancient Ireland, swans symbolised light and purity and were thought to connect us to the Otherworld of gods and goddesses, they also symbolise love because they mate for life. For me, the light in the trees points to hope on their journey but I think it’s nice for people to interpret art however they see it, there are many meanings and ways of seeing. This painting is now framed and currently on show at the Linenhall Arts Centre from the 7 July - 4th September 2023.
